FoNP is thrilled to announce that this year’s Brookland Halloween Parade & Party will once again be led by the talented Phelps ACE High School Panther Marching Band.

The Brookland Halloween Parade and Party will take place on Sunday, October 29th with a parade lineup starting at 1:30PM. Learn more about the event.

ABOUT THE MUSIC PROGRAM AT PHELPS

Phelps ACE High School offers Advanced Band and Beginning Band classes during the school day. As part of band classes, students learn the fundamentals of performing on at least one instrument, singing proficiency, music literacy, dynamics, articulation, phrasing, improvisation, composition and play in large and small ensembles. Students enrolled in band classes participate in either the Beginning Band or Advanced Band based on their experience level, and all students may participate in the Phelps Panther Marching Band. Over 30 students participate in the Phelps Band.

The Phelps ACE High School Panther Marching Band is led by Mr. Andrew Green. Mr. Green is a music educator, tuba player, and conductor, in the Washington area. He is the music teacher and band director at Phelps High School. In 2020, Mr. Green was selected as DCPS's Music Teacher of the Year, and in 2022, he was awarded a Standing Ovation Award (DCPS's "Academy Awards of Teaching").
